The New Birth Experience

“EXCEPT A MAN BE BORN OF WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT, HE CANNOT ENTER INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD.”
John 3:5 KJV

“THEREFORE IF ANY MAN BE IN CHRIST, HE IS A NEW CREATURE: OLD THINGS ARE PASSED AWAY; BEHOLD, ALL THINGS ARE BECOME NEW.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

THE NEW BIRTH

Ye Must Be Born Again

We believe salvation is more than joining a church, repeating a prayer, or making an outward profession of faith. Jesus taught that we must experience a New Birth of water and Spirit.

“Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
John 3:5 KJV

We believe the New Birth message Jesus taught is demonstrated in Acts 2:38.

Repentance

Repentance is a sincere turning away from sin and turning toward God. It involves godly sorrow, confession, surrender, and a willingness to leave the old life behind.

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out…”
Acts 3:19 KJV

Born of Water

We believe a person should be baptized by complete immersion in water in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.

“Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins…”
Acts 2:38 KJV

“When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.”
Acts 19:5 KJV

Born of the Spirit

We believe in receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.

“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
Acts 2:4 KJV

The promise of the Holy Ghost was not only for the Day of Pentecost.

“For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off…”
Acts 2:39 KJV

Repent. Be baptized in Jesus’ name. Receive the Holy Ghost. Be born again.
