Our Beliefs

Our Foundation Is the Word of God

At New Heights Apostolic Church, we believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and our final authority for doctrine, salvation, holiness, and Christian living. Our beliefs are not founded upon changing culture, traditions of men, or personal opinions, but upon the Word of God and the doctrine taught by Jesus Christ and His apostles.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
2 Timothy 3:16 KJV

We Believe in One God

We believe there is one true and living God.

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:”
Deuteronomy 6:4 KJV

We believe that this one God revealed Himself in flesh in the person of Jesus Christ for the purpose of redemption. We boldly proclaim that Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh.

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh…”
1 Timothy 3:16 KJV

Jesus Christ Is the Word Made Flesh

We believe Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh. Scripture declares that the Word was God and that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:1 KJV

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…”
John 1:14 KJV

We believe the Word was not a second God. The Word was God, and God manifested Himself in flesh as Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is the visible image of the invisible God:

“Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:”
Colossians 1:15 KJV

And Scripture declares:

“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”
Colossians 2:9 KJV

Therefore, we believe and boldly teach that Jesus Christ is God. He is the Word made flesh, the image of the invisible God, and all the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily in Him.

We Believe in the New Birth

We believe Jesus taught that every person must be born again of water and of the Spirit.

“Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
John 3:5 KJV

We believe the New Birth experience is proclaimed in the Apostolic plan of salvation found in Acts 2:38:

“Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
Acts 2:38 KJV

We believe in repentance, baptism by complete immersion in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance according to Acts 2:4.

We Believe in Holiness

We believe the New Birth is the beginning of a transformed life. After receiving the Holy Ghost, believers are called to continue growing in Christ and allowing the Word of God to wash, sanctify, correct, and transform them.

“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:”
Hebrews 12:14 KJV

“That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.”
Ephesians 5:26 KJV

We believe holiness begins inwardly and should be reflected outwardly through our character, conduct, conversation, relationships, appearance, and manner of living.

We Believe the Power of God Is Still Working

We believe in prayer, fasting, divine healing, deliverance, the gifts of the Spirit, and the operation of the Holy Ghost in the Church today.

We believe in the Five-Fold Ministry of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers according to Ephesians 4:11–12, given for the perfecting of the saints and the edifying of the body of Christ.

We Believe Jesus Is Coming Again

We believe in the return of Jesus Christ and the catching away of His Church. We believe every believer should live prayerfully, faithfully, and in holiness, watching and preparing for His coming.

“Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air…”
1 Thessalonians 4:17 KJV
