At New Heights Apostolic Church, we believe the family was established by God and that marriage is a sacred covenant. We teach that a godly home should be built upon Jesus Christ, biblical love, faithfulness, prayer, and obedience to the Word of God.

God’s Design for Marriage

We believe in one man and one woman joined together in marriage, according to God’s original design.

Genesis 2:24 KJV says, “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

Marriage is not simply a legal agreement but a covenant in which a husband and wife become one flesh. Husbands and wives are called to remain faithful to one another and honor the covenant they have made before God.

One Wife

We teach and uphold the biblical standard of one wife. A man is not to have multiple wives. Scripture repeatedly presents faithful Christian leadership in terms of being “the husband of one wife.”

1 Timothy 3:2 KJV says, “A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife…”

Titus 1:6 KJV likewise says, “If any be blameless, the husband of one wife…”

We believe a husband is to be committed and faithful to his wife, loving her sacrificially as Christ loved the Church.

Ephesians 5:25 KJV says, “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.”

The Husband & Wife

Scripture gives both husband and wife responsibilities within the home. We teach husbands to love, provide godly leadership, protect, and care for their families. Wives are taught to love, respect, support, and walk together with their husbands according to God’s order.

Marriage should never be an excuse for domination, mistreatment, or abuse. Biblical leadership is demonstrated through sacrificial love and service.

Ephesians 5:21 KJV first instructs believers, “Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.”

Raising Children in the Lord

Children are a blessing from God, and parents have a responsibility to teach them His ways.

Proverbs 22:6 KJV says, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Parents should not leave spiritual instruction entirely to the church. Prayer, Scripture, correction, worship, and the teaching of godly principles should also be present within the home.

Ephesians 6:4 KJV instructs parents to bring their children up “in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”

A Christ-Centered Home

Our desire is to see marriages strengthened, families restored, children raised in truth, and homes where Jesus Christ is honored.

We believe strong families are built through faithfulness, forgiveness, communication, prayer, biblical order, and genuine love. No family is perfect, but every family can continually seek to bring its home under the authority of God’s Word.
