Our Beliefs / Mission
What We Believe
THE GODHEAD
We believe in one God and that Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh. We believe that the fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily in Jesus Christ and that Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God.
“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” — Colossians 2:9 KJV
“Who is the image of the invisible God…” — Colossians 1:15 KJV
“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh…” — 1 Timothy 3:16 KJV
SALVATION — ACTS 2:38
We believe in the Apostolic plan of salvation as preached by the apostles on the Day of Pentecost. We believe every soul must repent of sin, be baptized by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” — Acts 2:38 KJV
We believe the Holy Ghost is still being poured out today and that the initial evidence of receiving the Holy Ghost is speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, according to Acts 2:4.
HOLINESS & THE WORD
We believe receiving the Holy Ghost is not the end of our walk with God, but the beginning of a transformed life. After salvation, the believer is called to continue growing in Christ and to live a life of holiness unto the Lord.
We believe in allowing the Word of God to continually wash, sanctify, correct, and transform us. As we submit ourselves to His Word and His Spirit, our minds, hearts, conduct, character, and lives should increasingly reflect Jesus Christ.
“That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.” — Ephesians 5:26 KJV
“Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.” — John 17:17 KJV
We believe holiness is both inward and outward and that God calls His people to be set apart unto Him.
“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.” — Hebrews 12:14 KJV
OUR FOUNDATION
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and our final authority for doctrine and Christian living. We are committed to continuing steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine, prayer, fellowship, worship, evangelism, and servanthood.
The message has not changed. The Word has not changed. Jesus Christ has not changed.
“One Lord, one faith, one baptism.” — Ephesians 4:5 KJV
The Plan of Salvation According to The Word of God
At New Heights Apostolic Church, we believe and teach the Pentecostal Apostolic message proclaimed by the apostles in the book of Acts. When the people asked, “What shall we do?” Peter gave them the biblical response:
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
Acts 2:38 KJV
Repentance
Repentance is more than simply feeling sorry for our sins. It is a sincere turning of the heart away from sin and toward God. We acknowledge that we have sinned, ask God for forgiveness, and make the decision to surrender our lives to Him.
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out…”
Acts 3:19 KJV
Baptism in Jesus’ Name
We believe water baptism is an essential part of the Apostolic plan of salvation. Baptism is performed by complete immersion in water in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.
We baptize in the name of Jesus because Jesus is the saving name revealed to us, and this is the pattern demonstrated by the apostles throughout the book of Acts.
“Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins…”
Acts 2:38 KJV
“And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.”
Acts 10:48 KJV
“When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.”
Acts 19:5 KJV
“Arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.”
Acts 22:16 KJV
Receiving the Holy Ghost
We believe the promise of the Holy Ghost is still for us today. The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of God dwelling within the believer, giving us power to live for God and leading us into a transformed life.
We believe the biblical initial evidence of receiving the Holy Ghost is speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.
“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
Acts 2:4 KJV
“For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off…”
Acts 2:39 KJV
The Apostolic Pentecostal Message
We are Pentecostal because we believe the experience of Pentecost recorded in Acts chapter 2 is still available today.
We are Apostolic because we continue steadfastly in the doctrine and teachings delivered by the apostles.
“And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”
Acts 2:42 KJV
The message has not changed: Repent. Be baptized in Jesus’ name. Receive the Holy Ghost. Then continue walking with God in holiness and obedience to His Word.
Our Mission
The mission of New Heights Apostolic Church is to reach the lost, preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, make disciples, and lead souls into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ.
We are committed to boldly proclaiming the Apostolic message of Acts 2:38: repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Our mission does not stop at conversion. We are committed to teaching and discipling believers to allow the Word of God to wash, transform, and mature them as they pursue a life of holiness, prayer, worship, servanthood, and obedience to God.
We desire to strengthen families, restore the broken, serve our community, develop faithful workers for the Kingdom of God, and prepare a people who are ready for the coming of the Lord.
We believe the Church has been called to go beyond its four walls, reaching people with both truth and love, while remaining steadfast in the Apostolic doctrine.
We exist to reach souls, preach truth, make disciples, and help people reach new heights in Christ.
“Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Mark 16:15 KJV
